Best Restaurants Near the Hauppauge Industrial Park: A Local Guide

You're in the park, it's noon, and you're tired of the same three options. The Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge is the second-largest industrial park in the United States — 1,400 companies, 55,000 employees — and finding a genuinely good meal nearby shouldn't require a research project. This guide covers the best options within a short drive, organized by what you're actually looking for.

Right in Hauppauge: Quick and Reliable -

1. Branchinelli’s Pizzeria & Restaurant, Hauppauge

The #1 rated restaurant in Hauppauge on TripAdvisor, and it's not close. Branchinelli's has been a community institution for years — family-owned, handed-down recipes, and a following that drives in from surrounding towns just for the Sicilian slice and the chicken parm. The buffalo chicken pizza and eggplant rollatini have their own devoted regulars. Open for lunch daily from 11:30am, takeout-friendly, and consistently packed for good reason. If you're new to the area and ask a local where to go for lunch, this is the answer you'll get.

2. Jameson's Bar & Grill Hauppauge

Consistently top-rated for weekday lunch in the immediate park area. Handles large groups well, quick service, solid food across the board, and a beer selection worth sticking around for after hours. Reviewers specifically call it out as the right spot for taking customers to lunch — the kind of place that works for a table of two or a table of twelve without any drama.

Worth the Short Drive: Sayville (~10 Minutes):

3. Off the Block Kitchen & Meats

Sayville

A butcher shop and scratch kitchen in Sayville that has been one of the South Shore's most talked-about restaurants since Chef/Owner Stephen Rizzo opened it in 2015. The concept is simple and the execution is exceptional — locally sourced, dry-aged cuts, a five-blend smash burger, chili-espresso buffalo wings, and a mac and cheese that regulars come back for specifically. Small place, focused menu, big quality. Off the Block is a partner restaurant to Shands General — the Rizzo family runs both, which tells you something about the standard they hold themselves to. Closed Mondays.

4. Sayville Athletic Club

Sayville

A sports bar that takes its food seriously. Hunter green walls, taxidermy, a two-inch maple bar top, and a craft beer list that's one of the better ones on the South Shore. The brisket and fried chicken sandwich are what people come back for. Co-owner James McPeak is also a partner at Shands General and The State Room — another sign that the people behind it care about what ends up on the plate. Open daily from noon.

When the Occasion Calls for It:

5. Shands General & The State Room, Patchogue (~15 Minutes)

When the meal actually matters — a client dinner, a team celebration, a private event — fifteen minutes down the LIE puts you on Main Street Patchogue and in front of the most celebrated restaurant on the South Shore.

Shands General is Newsday's Best New Restaurant of 2024 and one of Long Island's Top 50. The ground floor brasserie serves a chef-driven, locally sourced menu that changes seasonally — housemade pastas, a proper bistro steak, and a cocktail program run by Long Island's only back-to-back Bartender League champions. It's the kind of place that impresses without trying to.

Upstairs, The State Room is a 30-seat speakeasy-style private dining room with its own entrance off Havens Avenue. It's the right answer for a client dinner that needs to be memorable, a board supper, or a private cocktail reception for up to 45 guests. The Chef's Tasting experience ($125 per person, optional $45 beverage pairing) is available for full-table reservations when you want something beyond a standard dinner.

Partners Stephen Rizzo and James McPeak — also behind Off the Block and Sayville Athletic Club — are part of the ownership group here alongside Bert Wiegand and Julian Rizzo, bringing together some of the most respected names in South Shore hospitality under one roof.

Lunch: Wednesday through Sunday, 11am–2:30pm
Dinner: Monday & Wednesday through Sunday from 4pm; Closed Tuesdays
The State Room: Thursday through Sunday
